Genome MacroScripts

The Genome modifier appears on the regular 3ds Max Modifiers list in the Command Panel > Modify tab and can be added just like any other modifier to the current object selection.

WARNING!

The following section applies to 3ds Max 2012 and earlier.

Adding the MacroScripts to a toolbar in 3ds Max 2013 and saving to the new CUIX format is known to corrupt the UI files and can cause 3ds Max 2013 to fail on startup in the next sessions.

Please DO NOT install the MacroScripts if you are running 3ds Max 2013 until this is resolved.

In 3ds Max 2012 and earlier...

In order to speed up the adding of Genome modifiers to scene objects, two MacroScripts have been included. They can be found in the Customize User Interface dialog and can be dragged onto a toolbar, menu, QuadMenu or can be assigned to keyboard shortcuts.

Add Genome Modifier... MacroScript

When activated, the Command Panel will be switched to Modify mode if it is not in this mode yet, and an instance of the Genome modifier will be added to all currently selected geometry objects.

Holding down the SHIFT key will create a unique Genome modifier to every selected object.

If a single object is selected, the Genome modifier will be added above the currently selected modifier or base object. In other words, if there are multiple existing modifiers on the stack and the selected modifier is not the top one, the Genome modifier will be inserted into the stack above the currently selected level.

No license is necessary for adding an empty Genome modifier to the selected objects. Opening the Magma Editor will trigger a search for the license, and the creation of nodes and connections will only be enabled if a valid license has been acquired.

Add a Preset Genome Modifier... MacroScript

When activated, a menu displaying the content of the Genome Presets folder and its top-level sub-folders will be displayed. Selecting a Preset from the menu will assign an instance of the Genome modifier to all currently selected geometry objects and load the Preset flow in all of them.

Holding down the SHIFT key will create a unique Genome modifier to every selected object.

Note that a valid Genome license is required in order to create a Genome flow, including the loading of a Preset.
