Genome Twist Modifier
The Twist Modifier in 3ds Max rotates vertices around an axis according to their position relatively to that axis. The Genome inplementation can replace the simple Exponent value controlling the Bias of the effect with a Curve control for even more flexibility.
The left image shows the two objects with the modifiers disabled. The right image shows the 3ds Max Twist modifier (green) and the Genome Twist modifier (blue) both set to 360 degrees:
The Bias value can be used to control the exponent of the effect along the axis (left). But the Genome version of the modifier allows an additional control using a Function Curve which is not available in the native version (right):
